been vs gone
Choose between been and gone with the present perfect.
can / can't for permission
Use can and can't to ask for, give and refuse permission, and to talk about rules.

Choose between be going to, the present continuous and will for different future meanings.
Comparative adjectives
Compare two things with comparative adjectives and than.
Connecting ideas: and, but, so, because, when
Join ideas with and, but, so, because and when.
Countable and uncountable nouns
Tell the difference between countable and uncountable nouns and use a/an, some and any correctly.
ever and never
Use ever in questions and never in negatives with the present perfect to talk about experiences.

Use have to and don't have to to talk about necessity and no necessity.

Use just, already and yet with the present perfect to talk about recent actions.

Use much, many and a lot of to talk about large quantities.

Past continuous vs past simple (when / while)
Contrast the past continuous (background) and past simple (completed action), linked with when and while.
Past continuous: form and use
Use the past continuous (was/were + -ing) to describe actions in progress at a time in the past.
Past continuous: questions and negatives
Form past continuous questions and negatives with was/were and wasn't/weren't.
Past simple and present perfect (review)
Choose between the past simple and the present perfect.
Past simple: irregular verbs
Use the past simple of common irregular verbs correctly.
Past simple: questions and negatives
Make past simple questions and negatives with did and didn't plus the base verb.
Past simple: regular verbs
Form the past simple of regular verbs by adding -ed, with correct spelling.

Use was and were to talk about the past with be, in statements, negatives and questions.
